Our sea moss is grown in the clean and unpolluted waters of St. Lucia, nourished by the ocean. Providing you with one of nature's gifts in its purest form.

what is the difference between gold and purple sea moss

Both gold and purple sea moss offer the same health benefits and can be used in the same ways. However, purple sea moss, contains powerful antioxidants called Anthocyanins, which are commonly found in purple fruits and vegetables. Another difference is the way gold and purple sea moss is dried. Purple sea moss has to be dried in a dark room to avoid losing its colour and benefits. Whereas, the gold sea moss is dried in the sun. You will also find that purple sea moss has a slightly stronger smell and taste than gold seamoss. However, due to our thorough cleaning and preparation process, it is still unlikely to alter the taste of any drink or food that you add it to.

How does sea moss taste?

Our organic wildcrafted sea moss has been prepared to the highest standards and washed thoroughly before being made into a gel. Therefore, it is pretty much tasteless and will not alter the taste of any food or drink you are adding it into. There may be a slight 'ocean' and lime taste as our sea moss gel is 100% natural and we use lime during our preparation process.

How long can I keep my sea moss gel for?

You can keep your sea moss gel refrigerated for 2-3 weeks. If you would like to preserve it for longer you can freeze it for up to 6 months. An ice cube tray can be used to separate your sea moss into portions before freezing for convenience.

How much sea moss gel should I take?

We recommend that you consume 1-2 tablespoons of sea moss gel daily. There's many ways that you can take your sea moss gel. Check out our blog for some recipes.

Is sea moss good for weight loss?

Yes, sea moss can work as an appetite suppressant due to the high mineral content.

It can help you feel full for longer, which is great in aiding your weight loss journey and is also known to melt fat within the body.

Can I use sea moss gel on my face and body?

Yes, sea moss contains magnesium, vitamin A, vitamin K, and omega-3 fatty acids that hydrate and support healthy skin cell function.

Sea moss can also be used to soothe irritating skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, burns and psoriasis.

Try using your sea moss gel as a facial mask and you will see the benefits in no time. Place a thin layer on your face or affected area you would like to soothe.

Leave on for 30 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Follow up with a hydrating, fragrance-free moisturiser.

How long can I keep my raw sea moss?

Your raw organic Living Newell Sea Moss can be kept for up to a year after receiving so you have plenty of time to use it without worrying about it going bad.

If you notice any mould appearing at any time then do not consume any more.

Which minerals does sea moss contain?

Some of the minerals that Sea Moss contains are Zinc, Iodine, Iron, Calcium, Potassium, B Complex Vitamins, Sodium, Sulphur and Silicon. It is a great source of dietary fiber, Vitamin K, Copper, Riboflavin, Folate, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Manganese, Protein, Beta Carotene, B Vitamins, Pectin, Taurine (an amino acid usually lacking in vegan and vegetarian diets) and Vitamin C.

These are all essential nutrients that you need to support and maintain healthy bodily functions.

How do i store sea moss gel?

This is a short life product and needs to be stored in a cold environment. Please refrigerate immediately for it to reach the correct consistency

Upon arrival please store Sea Moss Gel for at least 4 hours before use and consume within 2-3 weeks upon arrival.

Sea Moss Gel can also be frozen, it is convenient to use an ice cube tray and fill it with Sea Moss Gel. It is very convenient to have the portion size moss ready on hand when needed. This should be used within 6 months.

What is the delivery time of my order?

We aim to have your order shipped out to you within 24 hours of your order. Sea Moss gels are sent via 24 tracked shipping so you should receive it the day after being sent out.

Raw Sea Moss and Shilajit are sent out via 48 tracked for you should receive those within 2 days of it being sent out. Any orders will be received within 1-3 days.

What exactly is shilajit?

Shilajit is a sticky substance found primarily in the rocks of the Himalayas. It develops over centuries from the slow decomposition of plants and is rich in fulvic acid and over 84 minerals, making it extremely beneficial for health.

How does shilajit benefit overall health?

Shilajit is known to improve energy levels, increase the absorption of vital nutrients, enhance memory, support the immune system, and reduce inflammation.

It is also used to purify blood and improve heart health. Shilajit contains many of the vital minerals and trace elements needed for energy reactions in our cells and high percentages of fulvic acid to help transport these mineral molecules deep into the body.

The minerals in Shilajit are in ionic form, which means that the body can more easily absorb and move them to areas where they are needed.

How should I take Shilajit for best results?

To consume, simply dissolve Shilajit in hot water, tea or warm milk and drink. It is best taken on an empty stomach to maximize absorption.

Alternatively one can dissolve it under the tongue or simply swallow a portion with water if the taste is too unpleasant.

We recommend starting with a rice grain to pea sized portion, one to three times a day for general well being. Amount can be increased for greater energy and effect.

Are there different grades of shilajit?

Yes! The purity and potency depends upon the location and altitude the Shilajit is harvested from, the purification techniques used and, most importantly, the grade of the Shilajit.

Very few people are aware that there are in fact four different qualities of Shilajit. Only the highest grade (Gold Grade) is considered to have all of the legendary properties Shilajit is famous for. When any of the four grades of Shilajit are purified the result will be a black tar like resin.

In order to identify the grade, one must first see the color and type of rock the raw Shilajit is found in before it is purified. The most effective Shilajit comes from the highest points of the Himalayas, approximately 16,000 – 18,000 feet above sea-level, which is where we at Living Newell source our Shilajit.

Because we personally travel to the source and have partnered with the people who have the best understanding and most experience with Shilajit, we are able to obtain the highest quality and most potent grade.

How long does shilajit take to work?

Many people report experiencing benefits within 10 days. For maximum benefits, we recommend taking one to three portions of Shilajit per day over a 6-8 week period. Results can vary.

Is shilajit safe?

What should i do if my shilajit is solid?

Pure Shilajit becomes very hard when cool and soft and gooey when warm. This unique quality of changing consistency in concert with ambient temperature is only found with 100% pure and genuine Shilajit and is an important indication of authenticity.

If your Shilajit is hard, please put your container in your pocket and your own body heat should be enough to soften it after 5-10 minutes.
